Be sure to clean and disinfect your garbage disposal at least once a month. Overtime, meal after meal, it will give off an unpleasant smell and stink up your whole kitchen. According to Home Depot the following should be done to disinfect the disposal, “Sprinkle in a half-cup of baking soda into the opening of the garbage disposal. Pour in a cup of white vinegar and allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Turn on the garbage disposal and allow hot water to rinse away the baking soda mixture.”
