1. Sweep/ Vacuum – Use a broom, microfiber dusts mop and use your vacuum’s “hard floor” setting.

2. Mop – Use a damp mop not a sopping wet one. Avoid leaving standing water. Use a steam mop designed for hardwood floors and NO harsh detergents and chemicals.

3. Revitalize – Use liquid scratch concealers. Restore the shine with wood floor polish. Use floor wax to revitalize and deep clean worn floors.

4. Maintain – Sweep, dust or dry mop daily. Vacuum weekly. Clean heavy-traffic areas twice a month. Clean with recommended hardwood floor cleaner once a month. Fresh coat of finish application every three to five years. Sand and refinish every ten years.

5. Protect – Place a door mat at each entrance. Place rugs in high traffic areas. Place furniture on rugs. Use furniture sliders to move around the furniture.
